I like the first image – the orange floor.
Comment by George November 25, 2008 @ 7:07 pmIt’s mostly space with the lower shelf in the upper right.
It works well as an abstract.
I also enjoy the first image, beautiful light.
Comment by erinwhitephoto December 4, 2008 @ 9:15 amIm not really understanding the focus in the second photo. It is quite distracting. I think there could be a better way of showing this haziness through better subjects or angles. The lighting and blur is almost nauseating.
Comment by Andrew Tillotson December 11, 2008 @ 10:32 amThe photo is conceptually based and i chose the flowers for a specific reason. i am sorry you want to throw up over my work. Critiques are meant to be helpful and you didn’t need to be rude.
Comment by Nicole December 13, 2008 @ 12:29 amI think your idea came across very nicely. Once I read your artist statement, it clicked. I can feel the looniness through the photographs. I would really like to see more photographs from this series to see how else you project your loneliness. Unlike Andrew Tillotson, I can understand why you made the flowers blurry. To me, it seems as though this life is passing you by, and it is hard for you to grab ahold of it. The first photograph is my favorite though. On top of adding to your conceptual idea, it is a beautiful photograph in itself. Push your concept further. You have the groundwork for something brilliant.
Comment by Miranda Morrison April 17, 2009 @ 5:38 pmi like that you made the subject alone and cornered it goes with your statement of loneliness and depression. color for me when i think depression are usually darker or saturated and usually cooler colors. the second image is blurry and distracting, but the colors are more on.
