those are awesome! love the first one especially.
Comment by MAEHYMN December 16, 2008 @ 11:36 pmI agree, the first photo is really captivating. The second one isn’t quite as believable as a real space… maybe a few more clouds going back into the distance might make is seem more real? The figure seems a little pasted on, and the background becomes flat.
I love the work though, it would be exciting to see all ten images together.

I immediately thought of these two artists when I saw your work…check them out! (if you haven’t already)I’m a huge fan of surrealism.
I must disagree with the above comment though. I think that both images are strong, they compliment each other very well. With the first one being more complex and the second one more simplistic….it works!
Comment by amy s. March 12, 2009 @ 2:31 pmI definitely get the relation to surrealism. I think that these are very well done and convey your themes well.
Comment by Morgana April 7, 2009 @ 2:29 pmThese images are wonderful. I love the first image and the bird cage added to the woman.
Comment by Jessica April 16, 2009 @ 1:16 pmHow stunning and amazing. I do not recall ever seeing works like these before and am finding myself totally captivated by the work! Would like to see more from the series. I also hope that you have turned this into a continuing series.
Comment by Tracy Johnson November 18, 2009 @ 3:48 pmi love the dream feel. i love how u used the sepia toner on the images. i like it adds more like antique experience but wont be forgotten but aged. you definitely got the surreal feel. it makes me think more about what she dreams about like wishes for unfinished business. i would love to see the rest of them. everything is in focus and its a well developed image because you have true blacks. good job.
Comment by Allison Pileggi March 17, 2010 @ 5:49 pmYou capture dream and surrealism perfectly. I love that the top image gets hazey at the edges, it really draws me in, and really supports your concept. I also love the idea of the second image, and think it might also look really interesting with the subject much smaller with more negative space. Either way, really exceptional images!
Comment by Lori Chandler March 30, 2010 @ 2:56 pmI think you captured the surreal, dream like atmosphere well. However, the first print seems stronger to me. The integration of real and unreal is done better in this one. It seem effortless. And I love the use of soft focus. It really draws you into the story of the subject.
Comment by Jenaille Northey May 3, 2010 @ 9:06 amYou did a great job with both of your photos! They are both captivating, and I find myself returning to look at them more than once (and whenever your viewers spend a long time looking at your images that’s a very good thing!) I, too, hope that this is a larger series exploring, as you say, dreams and surrealism. More than that, though, it would be interesting if they were all a part of the subject’s dreams, somehow relating. I love the emotion in the first image – creepy, yet not too creepy. Rather than you setting up a predictable Hitchcock Birds scene, you made it your own by having her look comfortable being surrounded by birds, even touching them. In contrast with many of the other posts, I also think that the bottom image is successful and interesting. I like the quirkiness of it. Both are very unique – I hope you continue this and develop it into a series!
