These two images are very powerful and have great composition.

Comment by Amy Osborne November 18, 2011 @ 6:04 amThe top image is beautiful. I love how bright the reflection of the sky is, you almost can’t tell it is a reflection. The colors are nice in both photographs. It’s interesting how you can see the silhouette of the grass in the distance in the bottom photograph. It may help if there was a little less black on the bottom.
Comment by Carly Sprague November 16, 2011 @ 2:30 pmThank you Carly, the bottom image lost detail when I resized it and turned it into a jpeg. The actual RAW photo has much more detail showing the grass throughout the bottom of the picture.
Comment by Amy Osborne November 18, 2011 @ 6:04 amHeavenly, love how both photos take you right into the picture its like you are walking directly into the painting It’s nice how it leads you right in.

Comment by Amy Osborne November 18, 2011 @ 6:01 amI think that the first photograph is stronger than the second one. The mirroring effect of the water creates a very successful composition. There is a great sense of symmetry. The colors are extremely vibrant due to the cross processing. I do not believe the second photograph is as strong. The colors are vibrant. However, the composition is a bit generic and resembles a snapshot. I wish there was more detail in the bottom half of the picture. Having it completely black really detracts from the photograph.
Comment by golda winston November 17, 2011 @ 12:01 pmI agree that the first photograph is stronger, the second one lost detail when I resized it. When looking at it on my computer it is not as black, and you can see detail. I composed it for the lines intentionally to make the middle pop with color. Thank you for your comment.
Comment by Amy Osborne November 18, 2011 @ 6:00 amAlso, these were not cross processed, they were images taken for the cross process assignment, these images are directly from the camera.
Comment by Amy Osborne November 18, 2011 @ 6:05 amWow! The first image is a breath-taking landscape! I love the reflection of the sky in the water—really creates a sense of unity throughout the photograph. The colors just help to give this natural feeling to the image, which really makes one feel as if they could be there. The second image is interesting, but as many have said it is not as strong. Perhaps different cropping of the image from the camera could have helped–such as making the silhouette just grace the bottom of the image instead of 1/3 of it.
Comment by Katherine Anne Wahamaki November 21, 2011 @ 3:08 pmThese two photographs are very strong in the way they show how nature has such a range of being able to reflect/mirror itself, yet also create such a bold contrast. You did an excellent job capturing this, and I think both images are articulated very well.
Comment by Bridget November 30, 2011 @ 12:33 amThese images adequately show the range of looks the sky can take on. Perhaps if you took a picture from the same spot but during different times of the day, it would create an interesting comparison.
Comment by Meredith Felt December 4, 2011 @ 5:21 pmThese photos are awesome! The way that you have captured the clouds, and colors in these landscapes really adds to these photos. The photos are very clear, and focused which is successful in the way that they are displayed. I would love to see them large!
Comment by Meaghan Mead December 6, 2011 @ 7:50 pmI love the top image. The reflection of the sky on the water is just beautiful and so bright it almost looks like a painting more then a photograph. That could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Both of these images draw me in and feel like I can just jump right into the photograph. Great job
Comment by Ryan Larish April 2, 2012 @ 6:12 pmAwesome work on the top image, Amy. Love the contrast and color, it works!
Comment by Steve Miller April 20, 2012 @ 11:46 pmI really love the top image. The contrast and color is excellent in this picture and the reflection of the clouds in the water is gorgeous. I love clouds and this picture is simply beautiful. Excellent job, I love it!
