I really like how all the pictures have a blueish cast to them because it kind of emphasizes the feeling of being at a bar. I like the text that you included in your images. On the top image, I wish you would’ve burned out the yellowish hallway in the back. It takes away from the parts of the image that are actually important. My eyes tend to go straight to the unimportant yellow hallway & than slowly move around the photo from there. Great job overall & I would really like to see the rest of your series!
Comment by Kaitlyn Guthard December 5, 2011 @ 2:04 pmThe first thing I noticed about these images was the great use of combined color and lighting. The dark shadows and intense colors really set the viewer in the setting. I really like the two combined images and text in the bottom are fused into one image. The only problem I really see with these is the yellow doorway and room in the back. I think that both images have a very strong emotional and moral theme attached to them. I am very interested to see what the rest of the images look like and the words combined with them.
Comment by Emma December 7, 2011 @ 2:05 pmI think that the first photo is striking. I love the color scheme of these photo as well I think they go nicely with the theme of the series. I think you do a good job of capturing the bar-type atmosphere. I also love how these are shot from behind the bar, it makes the viewer feel as if they are a spectator behind the bar watching all of these events unfold. Between the two lower ones I feel that the one at the very bottom is the strongest because of the sense of movement created by the blurring of the hand and the dice. Though this may have been a happy accident, I don’t think that the photo would read the same way or be as successful if the hand and the dice were focused.
