The Exchange Blog is an evolving concept and additional site to exchange your work with your peers at other universities to receive feedback on your images/projects from more than your classmates. If you have an idea that can improve this blog – this is for the students participating – email Adriane Little whose email address is below in the posting instructions or post a comment to this post.
Send an email to Adriane Little at photographyexchange@gmail.com with the information requested
• The email subject field should have your school’s name and photo exchange so that I know it is not junk mail – example: WMU Photo Exchange
For Photographs
Inside the email:
• Your First and Last Name
• The class you are taking – example Art 210 Digital Photo
• Medium – examples: silver print, digital print, installation still
• Size of the actual/physical image
• If image is in a series – how many images are there in total
• Optional – 100 word max statement about the work which will help to start a discussion about your image(s)
• website address if you have a personal website
• Attach 1-2 images, preferably 2 images from the same series
• Adjust image size to 418 pixels on longest side at 72 dpi
• Then use the save for the web function to prepare the image for the web – jpg
• Make sure that the image is under 75k so that the page loads quickly.
For Video
** video must first be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr or Google Video
Inside the email:
• Your First and Last Name
• The class you are taking – example Art 5560 Video Art
• YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr or Google Video link to reach your video
• Optional – 100 word max statement about the work which will help to start a discussion about your image(s)
• website address if you have a personal website
• if you are required to participate by your professor, be sure to cc that person so that they know that you have sent your images if you are required to do so.
• Please don’t wait until the very end of the semester to submit. It’s the end of the semester for me as well plus you will receive more comments if you submit sooner than later.
