My World

The Unseen

Both images where taken to fulfill an assignment challenging us to portray an everyday object/scene as uncanny. I captured the infrared that cones from my TV’s remote control in one photo and the other is from where I work.

  1. The top photo achieves everyday uncanny successfully, I think, because the lamp and photography tools take on a more menacing quality because of their placement in the mirror. They seem more like surgical tools. Additionally the focus and framing of the reflected image but not the real image furthers the unsettling nature of the photo.
