Five images in the dramatic light series.

These were my two best in my dramatic light series. The first image used only the light from the macbook air while the other one is using porch lights from outside the window. Each photo was taken around midnight with long exposure times.

  1. I really love the dramatic lighting in each of these photographs! I think you did a great job with the long exposure, and using two different light sources (the macbook air, and the porch lights) to make two similar effects with each setting/ background. Good job overall!

  2. Dear Mary Liz,

Nice job. I really like the cinematic effect and narrative aspect to these two photos. You’ve transformed the dorm room for the viewer. I also like the contrast between the light outside the window in one and the light from within (the computer) in the second one. Good choice for a long exposure.

    Best Regards,

  3. Long exposures are trial and error and you definitely achieved the dramatic lighting. The second image is especially successful with the different light source and looks like an abandoned space, adding to the dramatic atmosphere.

  4. Wow, Im doing a project on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and this reminds me of a set up that the girls would be in, when they meet back together. The dramatic lighting is wonderful in both photographs.
