“Everything is not as it seems. These should be viewed from the full image to the close up. The zoomed out image is in the middle of the series; there are five sections farther away than that. There are 4 in between the two shown. The images gradually become closer to reveal decay in a seemingly perfect object.”

  1. I think this is a great description of the series and images to go along with it. You definitely cannot see the details on the sculpture until you get up close to it. It’s interesting that you kept the detail to the left half of the image. The first image seems like a documentation, keeping the subject very central to the frame.

  2. The level of abstraction in the close up is appealing. With out the top image to provide a reference it would be hard to know what it is.

  3. This is a really great idea for a series of photographs! You captured your intent really well. Perhaps you could manipulate the images of the close ups and make them seem older and more fragile?
